Spirit River Settlement Historical Society & Spirit River Museum
The formation of the Spirit River Settlement Historical Society began as a result of a field trip to the old Catholic Mission site
and a search for the original town site of Spirit River in the fall of 1985
The Spirit River Museum is a small town treasure that simply begs to be explored. Take a few hours to visit their collection of buildings and structures from the early 20th century, arrows and spears (some dating back over 11,000 years), horse-powered water well drilling unit, farm machinery, old vehicles, medical tools and more. Take a look around Charlie’s Cabin (1934) complete with original furnishings, the Broncho Creek School (1920), the Winchell Cabin (1914), Flour Mill and Building (1917), Reed House (1918), The Holy Greek Orthodox Church (1930), St. Andrews Anglican Church (early 1930s) and Spirt Valley Hall (1932).
