Audrey was born on May 4, 1944 in Sexsmith, Alberta to Percy and Clara Hamilton. She was the final addition to family after Hubert (passed away as an infant) and Earl. The family lived in Spirit River and then homesteaded in Happy Valley. Audrey took the bus to go to school in Spirit River, on occasion when the weather was uncooperative. other means were used to meet the bus. She later went to Business College in Grande Prairie. After her schooling, Audrey lived and worked in Rycroft.
Audrey enjoyed dancing and going to ball games, where she met Jim Hindmarch. They were married October 30, 1964, and the following year they homesteaded in Fourth Creek, where they raised their family. In the next years their family grew, first Clifford, then Loretta and Carol.
Audrey enjoyed seeing her family grow with her children getting married and having children of their own. Audrey loved spending time with her great-grandchildren watching all that energy.
Audrey worked alongside her husband, Jim, on the farm. As well as all the work she did on the farm, she made many weekly trips to Dawson Creek taking hogs to market.
Audrey was a huge volunteer in the community. She was involved with the Savanna Agricultural Society. She was a part of the organization at the beginning when the building was first constructed. She was an enthusiastic member of the organization, holding many positions, including President (more than once).
Audrey had been a timekeeper for the 4-H speak-offs for many years.
Audrey enjoyed going to ball games (many evenings and weekends cheering on the team), crocheting, reading, baking and cooking (she was a fabulous cook), researching for new recipes and playing cards. In the later years, Jim and Audrey travelled to Spirit River almost every week to play cards at the seniors’ center in Spirit River.
