Heidi Heitrich, resident of Grande Prairie AB, passed away on September 18th, 2021, at the University Hospital in Edmonton, AB, at the young age of 37 years. She was raised in Wembley AB and attended the Catholic Schools in Grande Prairie until her graduation from St. Joe’s Highschool in 2002. She went on to become a hair stylist, thriving in her newly discovered passion.
From the day she was born, Heidi captured the heart of everyone she met. She embraced every day of her life and to encapsulate Heidi’s personality on paper is impossible. She genuinely cared for every person and animal that crossed her path and consistently took time for EVERYONE, even complete strangers. She made every person feel important and that they mattered. She loved her faith, she loved to travel, she loved the heat from the sun, she loved time with family and friends, she loved to dance, and she LOVED to laugh.
And laugh she did! Her laugh was contagious. You could be in a completely different room, but when she was laughing, without knowing the reason why, you couldn’t help but laugh with her. She loved to make memories and could easily be talked into last minute road trips and anything that she thought would be lots of fun.
Heidi made an impact in her 37 years that most people don’t make in their lifetime of 80 years. Heidi’s faith in Jesus was prominent to the point that she tattooed his name down the side of her body. By God’s grace, she has become His most epic angel and we will forever feel her presence. Heidi lived life to its fullest and she truly made the world a better place. Heidi was compassionate, genuine, and perfectly imperfect.
She will be greatly missed by her parents, Doug and Carrie Heitrich, her sisters Mandy Jensen and Trisha Scheck, her big brothers Dustin Jensen and Matt Scheck, her nieces and nephews, Levi Heitrich (Jade Gerrard), Brody Jensen, Alex Scheck, Kali Scheck, Dreyson Jensen, Pyper Jensen, Rhogen Jensen, her great nephews (to which she called herself Grantie instead of great auntie), Jensen Gerrard and Ellwood Heitrich, her boyfriend Jamie Bailey, his parents Debbie and Jim Bailey, his brother Bobby Bailey (Kelsey Tofteland), Sister Kelsey Weller (Keegan Weller), his nieces and nephews, Daxon Weller, Dani Weller and Bennett Bailey, along with endless family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Daniel and Virginia Heitrich, and Arthur Lefley, her Uncle Bernie, her Auntie Audrey, Auntie Janet, and her cousin Brett.
The viewing was held on Sunday, September 26, from 6pm to 8pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie.
An invite only funeral service for her was held on Monday, September 27th, at 2:00pm.
In honour of Heidi’s love of animals, memorial donations can be made to the Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association.
We are beyond grateful for all the kind words and beautiful pictures during this time. We are so very proud and blessed to be called her family. She will be greatly missed by absolutely everyone she encountered, including her Art and Soul family.
