Isabel Florence Esplin (Didow) (February 23, 1941 – June 22, 2020)

We, all of Isabel’s family, wish to announce her peaceful passing at the U of A hospital in Edmonton.

Isabel was born the fifth child to Pauline and John Didow at home in Rycroft, where she attended school, eventually moving to Edmonton, living and working there until her passing.

She married Fred Esplin on July 27, 1968. Together, they raised six sons. When Isabel wasn’t cooking, baking, cleaning, gardening and sewing and rearing six boys, she worked many years at Alberta Hospital until her retirement.

Isabel so enjoyed taking trips and exploring in her retirement years, creating her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved country music, Charlie Pride being her favorite.

Isabel had a heart of gold, and loved striking up conversations with people wherever she went. Izzy, as we often called her, also just loved camping, picnics and HUGE bonfires, often saying “build it up higher!’

Isabel was pre-deceased by her parents Pauline (Boyko) and John Didow, sons Billy and Brad, sister Hellen, brother Orest, sisters-in-law Joan, Marie, Ruth, brothers-in-law Stan, Richard, Bill and Dennis.

She is survived by her four sons Murray, Terry, Jerry and Rod, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, her sisters and brothers, Mary, Ed, Jim, Jean (Willie), Jeanette, Allen (Leeann), Marlene (Gil). Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

We will forever miss you dear sister Izzy, until we meet you on the flip side!
