COVID-19 numbers show modest decline

COVID-19 numbers in Alberta dropped slightly in the past 24 hours, with active cases falling to 801 from 814 while the number of hospitalized patients decreased to 46 from 48. Admissions to intensive care units remained unchanged at six.

Active cases at continuing care facilities also registered a modest decline to 69, down five from the last report.

Forty-two new cases have been identified in 4,015 tests completed in the past 24 hours.

Below is a breakdown, by health zones, of active COVID-19 cases in Alberta.

  • Calgary Zone – 629 active cases (minus 12)
  • South Zone – 92 active cases (minus 1)
  • Edmonton Zone – 55 active cases (unchanged)
  • North Zone – 20 active cases (plus 1)
  • Central Zone – 3 active cases (unchanged)
  • There are 2 active cases and 22 recovered cases in zones that are yet to be confirmed.
