A resident of Manoir du Lac Continuing Care Facility in McLennan – a woman in her 80’s – has died from COVID-19, the second death reported within a 24-hour timeframe in Alberta and the fifth fatality in the facility. The other fatality was a man in his 70’s at the High River Long-Term Care Unit.
The two recent fatalities brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Alberta to 50.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, reports 162 new COVID-19 cases throughout the province, the most number identified in a 24-hour period – apprently stemming from more tests being done. Alberta currently has a total of 2,158 cases.
Work still continues to fix a computer-network problem that hinders reporting on more indepth COVID-19 data, including recovered cases and identification of cases by health zones.
