Four people have died from COVID-19 infection in the past 24 hours in Alberta, and two of the deaths occurred at the Manoir du Lac in the North Zone. The Manoir de Lac, a facility for seniors in McLennan, now accounts for a total of four COVID-19 deaths.
Alberta now has a total of 44 COVID-19 deaths.
Eighty-two new cases were confirmed in the province in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,651. The number of people who have recovered have increased as well at 823, up 49 from a day earlier and accounting for nearly 50% of the total active cases.
Forty-four people are in hospital, with 14 admitted to intensive care units.
In the North Zone, which includes the Central Peace, Grande Prairie and the surrounding communities, four new cases were identified, bringing the total to 103.
