Vera was born in England and grew up in Kyle, Saskatchewan.
She joined the Air Force for WWII, right out of high school, serving in Calgary as a Transport Driver. After her service, she became a hair dresser. Vera married Bert Farrell on March 16, 1946.
They took up farming through the Lassiter Project, in Codesa/Eaglesham area. Bert and Vera retired to Abbotsford, B.C., spending their retirement camping and fishing across Canada and the United States.
Vera was predeceased by husband Bert in 2003, at which time Vera returned to Alberta to live with her daughter, Donna Bond.
Leaving to honor her memory is her daughter Donna Bond, grandson Scott (great granddaughter Morgan), grandson Craig (Leah)( great granddaughter Georgia), her sisters Maggie and Mary, a brother Ponto, as well as sister-in-law Stella.
Vera passed away at Good Samaritan Stony Plain Care Centre.
