It is with great sadness that his family announce the passing of Leo Danylchuk on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Humboldt District Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was 71 years of age.
Leo was raised on a farm at Dana, SK, and Bruno is where he met the love of his life Marlene Bender. They were married on November 25, 1967. They raised three children on a farm at Rycroft, Alberta.
Leo worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and playing cards. Leo (Toby) as most people knew him by is and will be fondly missed by all who knew him.
Toby will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Marlene (nee Bender) Danylchuk; his children and their families, Cory Danylchuk and his children Devon and MacKenzie; Chris (Karen) Danylchuk and children Cayden and Jaron; Sherry Brodie and her children Dustin (Aftin) Livingston, Kevin Livingston and Jesse Livingston; and two great-grandchildren: Austin and Karis. He is also survived by his sisters: Pearl (Dennis) Thiel and Shirley (Gary) Wurm; brothers David Danylchuk and Harvey Danylchuk; and mother-in-law Lena Bender.
Leo was predeceased by his parents Walter and Annie (nee Weselowski) Danylchuk and his father-in-law Leo Bender.
A Funeral Mass was offered at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, SK on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh.
Others taking part were: Dustin Livingston, crossbearer; Colleen Moniuk and Vanessa Wurm, scripture readers; organist, Jamie White and members of St. Bruno Parish Choir, music ministry; Beaty Krentz and Roberta Krentz, memorial table attendants; Sherry Brodie, eulogist; Cory Danylchuk and Chris Danylchuk, urnbearers. Honorary pallbearers were: Jesse Livingston, Kevin Livingston, Cayden Danylchuk, Jaron Danylchuk, Devon Danylchuk and MacKenzie Danylchuk.
